Fire Prevention Tips

If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT, and CALL 9-1-1

Talk with all household members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year.

Talk to children regularly about the dangers of fire, matches and lighters and keep them out of reach.

Teach children what smoke alarms sound like and what to do when they hear one.

Eagle Fire believes that the most important fire prevention method is through education. This is done one of several ways:

Fire Department visits to school classes:
Every year the fire department visits all school classes from 1st thru 4th grades to stress the importance of fire safety. Students are educated about smoke detectors, fire safety, exit drills in the home, and a variety of other items important to fire prevention. Of course, no class would be complete without a firefighter putting on all their gear and a visit from Sparky the fire dog!

Station Tours:
Interested in touring a fire station to learn more about fire safety and what firefighters do?Please call the department's main phone number (939-6463) to schedule a tour.
Day care, community or scout groups, church group, etc, everyone is welcome to take a tour.

Open House:
Each October, Fire Prevention Week is taken very seriously. Not only do department representatives and firefighters visit all the Eagle schools, the week is culminated by an Open House at the fire station! The firefighters proudly serve hot dogs and pop, provide demonstrations, explain apparatus, and have a chance to interact with the public at a non-emergent time.
