Eagle Fire Explorer
Post 159
Mission Statement: The purpose of the Eagle Fire Department Explorer program is to provide youth with an insight to the fire and emergency medical field; to instill in the youth to become productive, law-abiding and community oriented citizens; and to provide youth the information, training and experience to help them assess their desire to enter into a career of fire and rescue.
What we do: Eagle Fire Department Explorer Post #159 is a special interest post, which operates within the framework of the Exploring Division of the Boy Scouts of America. This progressive Fire Service post participates in many different Fire Department and civic functions. This includes, but is not limited to, job-oriented skills, educational drills, service to the community and social/recreational activities. As an Explorer you will need to realize that you are a representative not only of the Fire Department but also of the City of Eagle as a whole. The way you are viewed by the public is a direct reflection on the entire Fire Department.
Most interested individuals join the Explorer Post in an effort to obtain more information about the fire service and to find out if this career path is for them. There are also individuals who already know that they want a career in the Fire Service and are using the Explorer Post as a stepping-stone. What you put into the program you will get out of it. A good recommendation when you are being evaluated for a full time position is invaluable. Consider your time here as an investment in the future. Along with all of the serious aspects of the job there is a lot of camaraderie. You will make new friends and possibly establish networks for yourself to assist you in your career pathways. If you have any questions in regards to your probation please contact your Department Advisor.
